yo: so what are the parking restrictions in the winter? are they the same as exam week or more like summer term (as in, park in any number lot with a number permit?)

did anyone have the PDF attatched? mine did not. if anyone's did, could you email it to me at supermjr@umd.edu ? thanks.

Dear Permit Holder:

Please find attached a .pdf version of the dashboard placard necessary
for entrance to Lot 1 prior to 10:00 am on Thursday, October 20th, 2005.
Your Lot 1 permit should be displayed normally, and this permit should
be printed and placed on your dashboard.

If you arrive to campus after 10:00am, the same combination of this
placard and your Lot 1 permit will be valid either at Mowatt Lane
Garage, or Regents Drive Garage. We encourage all commuter students who
do not currently have academic/scholastic commitments extending beyond
4:00 pm on Thursday, October 20th, 2005 to consider exiting campus by
4:00 pm to avoid delays and heavy traffic.

Please call 301 314-PARK for questions.

Thank You

Has lot N3 in front of LaPlata Hall next to CRC always been "Faculty/Staff after 4PM"??? I always parked there before and didn't get a ticket but tonight I came out of the CRC and found that infuriating little yellow envelope on my windshield. Grrr. I was only parked there for a half hour, too.

Also, I've heard that you can get out of your first ticket, but is it the first ticket in your name or is it the first ticket on your car? My boyfriend f'ed up last year and forgot to move my car out of a letter lot before 7AM and so the ticket was under his name... what are the odds I'll have to pay this one?

My boyfriend often commutes down from Baltimore to spend the night with me. Where can he park? The parking garages say they're operational from 7:00 am to 1:30 am (roughly), so does that mean they're closed during the night? Or does that just mean you can park there, but start getting charged at 7:00 am?

We're both tired of him slipping out at 6:30 just so won't get towed/ticketed when the 4:00 pm - 7:00 am parking lots let up.

In summary: where can a person stay if they want to spend the night but don't want to leave at 7:00 am?

Does this forum go to the metro?

Finally, a place where I can vent my frustrations! A campus where the mean SAT score is like 1300 and the majority of the campus has no idea where buses go, and the other half refuses to read the stupid sign on the front of the bus...so like I said...

Does this forum go to the metro?

Welcome!

First day! 9 members! Whew! I was worried nobody would join...

Anyway, like I said, share your comments and questions and frustrations about the parking/bus situation on campus here!

Let's try to stay on topic. If you have solicitations or other campus concerns, i.e. housing, post it to umd instead.
